Enda Kennedy

My tide in August was from the 8th to the 15th, as you are well aware the weather was shocking and many swimmers didn't get to start, one of whom was Enda Kennedy from Clara, Co Offaly. Ireland. We had previously met Enda in Kinsale at the Irish Champion of Champions and hit off a great friendship immediately.

Since the tide and the subsequent no go tides for us both in September we have remained in touch, this last weekend we visited Enda and his lovely wife Denise to attend the black tie ball at the SAS Radison in Athlone for the Charity night in aid of his chosen cause Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin.

The weekend and the ball in particular was a great success and I just wanted to thank Enda and his extended family for a fabulous time, overall the night raised in the region of 35,000 Euro making Endas efforts so far over 330,000Euro an amazing effort well beyond the call of duty.

He is now off to run his 8 or 9th NY marathon again for the hospital.
A top man ....thanks Enda...my liver is now recovering!

JACK BROWN

I am delighted to be able to report that little Jack Brown has returned home from America where he has been battling Neuroblastoma. He has at last been declared NED ..(no evidence of disease), I received an email from his mum Yvonne today, his parents and friends are quite obviously elated at the news, as are we, long may his recovery continue.
